A Pox on Our House

It's been an interesting couple of weeks. Almost three weeks ago, Jameson complained about spider bites but upon closer inspection, Jeannette ascertained it was chicken pox, even though he has been vaccinated for this.

Early this week, as you might guess--again despite having been vaccinated--Miss MelodyJoy started poppin' like a leopard. She's gotten a much harder case of the chicken pox.

Oatmeal baths help some . . .
For the most part, she does well, except at night. Most of the week, she's been waking up screaming, sometimes because she itches, sometimes because she has a temperature. Last night, I had her in bed with me for a couple of hours and it seemed like she woke up crying every ten minutes. Finally she asked to go back to her bed so I took her upstairs. I didn't hear much the rest of the night but in the morning I found out she'd crawled into the guest bed with Jeannette and kept her awake quite awhile. It's gotta pass soon, right? Right?!
