Showers of Blessings

Ever since we started to tell folks about our plans to adopt from China, everyone has been so supportive and encouraging. Family and friends have given us financial support directly, through our church and through the Eternal Family Fund. Stephen Curtis Chapman's foundation, Shaohannah's Hope, gave us a small grant. I don't know how we would have pulled this all off without the emotional and financial support we've received. (In fact, I'm still not sure how we're going to pull this off!)

In the course of the last week, we've seen very tangible evidence of this support again and again. My co-workers threw us a "surprise" shower last Friday ("surprise" in quotes because someone who will remain nameless managed to include me in the e-mail notifying everyone about the shower) and just blew us away with their generosity. A new crib (the one Jeannette had picked out months and months ago), a number of cute outfits for MelodyJoy, toys, a giant bunny, supplies and even cash. Not to mention the cake, the confetti, the crepe paper. It was really touching to see the way they went all out for this little girl and our family.

Friday night, Jeannette co-workers gave her a shower and again just overwhelmed us--well, Jeannette at least, since all four male Muntzes were kicked out of the house for the evening--with a variety of great gifts both fun and practical. Some of these outfits will be worn on the streets of Guangzhou very soon! Others will have to wait for summer in Klamath Falls. Everyone's thoughtfulness has made such a huge difference for us.
