So, now I remember why I stopped blogging . . . I'm having a terrible time finding a few minutes regularly to update this. But here's an update on our adoption process . . .
The US State Department has received our I-800 form, which is our petition to have Jillian classified as our relative. Our petition has now been forwarded to the US Consulate in Guangzhou, China, for approval.
The latest estimate is that we'll receive our approval to travel in late September, which normally would mean that we would get to fly to Guangzhou around three weeks later. In our case, because of a large trade show in Guangzhou in late October, it seems like there's a good chance we won't travel until the start of November. Our case worker is thinking that perhaps we'll actually get Jillian on November 5th, but that's really just a guess.
