Four Years, 364 Days Old

Tomorrow is MelodyJoy's fifth birthday but since I have to be in Illinois, we had a family party for her today.
One of our students at LCU, Kevin, came home with me for the weekend and enjoyed Jeannette's home cooking and the cherry birthday cake . . .

No, that isn't a second birthday cake. My sister Laura sent Melody this unusual little cupcake that actually is like a block of bath salts and can float in the tub. It had a real candle on top so Jeannette lit it for Melody.

Mr. Mom

This past weekend, Phillip was in Oregon visiting George Fox University and Jeannette was in Indianapolis for an education conference, so it was just Jameson, MelodyJoy and me for Friday and Saturday. We managed to tear Jameson away from the computer for a trip to the park (as well as to do some shopping, a game of miniature golf and pizza at Sam's Club, but I don't have photos of that venture).

Tiger Woods Conspiracy Theory

Here's my Augusta National Conspiracy Theory: At his press conference, Billy Payne ripped Tiger Woods in order to make Tiger a sympathetic figure so more people would root for him. How much did Nike pay Payne to do this?

(Oh, and by the way: New Nike commercial . . . simply horrendous, but it did get every sports talk show in America to say the word "Nike" at least ten times today.)

As the Easters Go By

In 2007, MelodyJoy celebrated her second Easter with us (her first one was just weeks after she joined our family). This is one of my favorite photos of her . . .
It's hard to believe that today was her fifth Easter with us!

Easter '10

While MelodyJoy was in Sunday School this morning, her brothers hid Easter eggs around the house for her hunt after church. When we got home she made quick work of them . . .

Here are a couple of videos of her treasure hunt . . .

Jordan came home Friday evening for the weekend so, as Melody would say, our family was complete, and we were able to get a photo of all four kids . . .
Despite the fact that she was dressed in her Easter best, Jeannette insisted that we needed to witness Melody's new proficiency with a bat and ball . . .
