I was talking with one of our OIT students from China last week and asked her if she knew what Easter is. She hesitated and just asked, "Bunny?"
I explained that the Easter Bunny was one tradition but, moreover, Easter is the most important Christian holiday. "More important than Christmas?!" I told her that Christmas was important, of course, but that on Good Friday we remembered the day that Jesus Christ was killed and on Easter we celebrate the day He came back to life. She blinked and shook her head in puzzlement. "Is this fact or just belief?" she asked. I explained that it was belief but also that many things point to it being true. I was hoping she might come to our church this morning to learn more about Easter, but I think that was probably a bit too intimidating for her.
This afternoon, while MelodyJoy napped, Jameson "hid" plastic eggs in the backyard for her to find. Each one had a jellybean or several M&Ms inside. At one point, she insisted on climbing in her car to hunt for the eggs.
